Midland, Texas-   At a regular meeting of the Midland Development Corporation (MDC) on March 28, 2008, MDC approved a financial incentive package of $275,000 for Natural Gas Services Group, Inc.. Midland City Council ratified MDC’s recommendation and also approved the incentive package at their meeting on April 8, 2008.
 
In consideration of the award, Natural Gas Services Group, Inc. is relocating and expanding their existing manufacturing activities into a new, larger location in Midland and is also relocating their Corporate Offices into Midland’s Central Business District. The company expects to make capital investments of approximately $4,500,000.00 and add at least 49 new jobs with an increase in annual payroll of $1,880,000.00 by December 31, 2010.
 
Natural Gas Services Group, Inc. is headquartered in Midland, Texas and is a leading provider of small to medium horsepower, wellhead compression equipment to the natural gas industry with a primary focus on the non-conventional gas industry, i.e., coalbed methane, gas shales and tight gas. The Company manufactures, fabricates, rents and maintains natural gas compressors that enhance the production of natural gas wells and also designs and sells custom fabricated natural gas compressors and flare systems for gas processing and production facilities.

Don “Woody” Woodward, Midland Development Corporation, became a graduate of the University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute (OU/EDI) on April 3,2008 at the OU/EDI session held in Reno, Nevada.

OU/EDI is a three-session program, each one week long, which provides a broad spectrum of advanced education for the economic development professional and is accredited by the International Economic Development Council.

OU/EDI classes focus on three major core areas Business Retention & Expansion, Real Estate, and Finance as well as areas of concentration in Marketing, Strategic Planning, Managing Economic Development Organizations, and Entrepreneurial Development. Students complete 117 hours of instruction selected from more than 50 seminars, workshops and discussion groups.

Begun in 1962, OU/EDI now has over 3500 graduates.
